Adventures of a part-time traveller.
10 June 2013
Some of you may know that I’m a relatively new but fairly active member of a popular cruising forum, Cruises.co.uk. Incidentally, this forum is run by one of the UK’s biggest specialist cruise travel agents, Cruise.co.uk. Last week they ran a competition of sorts where they wanted a forum member to go on a free cruise on Celebrity Infinity’s Iceland and Fjords cruise, leaving Harwich on the 24th June 2013.
I entered, thinking very little of my chances of winning, but last Monday I got the e-mail from the administrator telling me I’d been successful. The dance of excitement that was performed was thankfully not caught on camera by those I was with at the time, and I’ve since had time to come back down to earth and start planning the holiday.
It’s not all fun though. Part of the deal is that I have to keep a daily blog on the Cruises.co.uk forum and write a comprehensive review when I get back. I don’t think that should be too taxing, given the reward!
For those interested in cruising, I’d thoroughly recommend checking out the forum; it’s a great source of information and the people are very friendly (if I do say so myself). In fact the community helped me prepare for my first cruise, and has been an enjoyable hangout since then.
Anyway, you can all look forward to my new series of posts starting in a couple of weeks.
