I had a nice relaxing final day, despite feeling a little rough in the morning. I enjoyed some quizzes, had a very kind gesture from my companions, and we all said our sad farewells.

Today we docked for a long day in Hamburg where Sue and I made our own chocolate and enjoyed a big German sausage. A very relaxed day, with a delayed departure.

Today I celebrated my 29th birthday on board Queen Mary 2. We took part in various quizzes, enjoyed some live music, and had our second night in the marvellous and glamorous Britannia Restaurant before enjoying some spooky bedtime stories.

Following on from yesterday’s teaser, I’d like to tell you about the day in more detail including embarkation information and some comments on the room. We also enjoyed some first class entertainment in the theatre tonight, along with our first meal in the beautiful Britannia restaurant.
Queen Mary 2: Remastered

I am currently sitting in the Golden Lion pub after boarding the remastered Queen Mary 2 today in Southampton. I have a pint of larger and some of the Golden Lion’s famous fish and chips on the way. It’s been several years since my last cruise on Queen Mary 2 (and Cunard generally) and my experience at sea has grown since then. Queen Mary 2 was my first ship, and got me hooked on cruising. I can’t wait to see what’s changed, and view this beautiful lady through the eyes of a slightly more experienced cruiser.
Technology and Check-in

Many people often say that one of the downsides of sailing from Southampton is how badly organised the port is, and how long check-in can take. Most people want to be through check-in and security as quickly as possible so they can start sipping their first holiday cocktail as soon as humanly possible. I want to talk about how technology on Anthem of the Seas makes this as quick as possible!
